Chelsea // Early Summer Detroit Backyard Portrait Shoot

September 10, 2020

Just in the midst of hot, sweltering, summer chaos a few months back, I got a phone call from dear Chelsea that she was going to be here in Detroit for some time. **insert the sound of a schedule clearing here- in my mind it’s a “whoosh” sound?** If anyone has ever met this gem of a woman, you’d know that she’s clearly the kind of person that feels like medicine to be around. When I say this is a person that knows how to go with the flow and encapsulates all that is thoughtful, kind, and all-out hilarious, I mean it.

There are definitely going to be more upcoming posts about this date.

Reason one being, it was a magical week and for my own good I should refer back to this week of hanging out in inflatable pools and drinking mimosas around my houseplants with the only other person that willingly goes down Y2k-era YouTube music video k-holes/embarrassingly informal karaoke nights with me until it’s altogether way too late.

Reason two being, there’s a lil dog at my feet doing an interpretive dance known in the dog world as, “TAKE ME OUT FOR A WALK. RIGHT. NOW.”

In the meantime, I’ll leave you here with some photos of my sunshine muse & aforementioned dog who insisted of photobombing the shoot (I’d say this never happens, but to be honest, Clementine loves to be at the center of attention, which is why she gets uninvited from a lot of photo parties- gotta share that spotlight, miss friend)

Love & Sticks,

Nico
