What is there to say, aside from – I love this couple? Naturally. And their lovely Detroit home? Fricking gorgeous and so thoughtfully done. And their love? Perfectly honest, goofy, sweet love. And best of all – they are preparing to share all this goodness with a new family member in just a short time. And I just don’t know where to begin but to say, swoon.
To put into context the kind of care and dedication these two have for translating their incredible minds into tangible magic: Emily has put considerable amount of effort into creating a space to welcome a new human friend by doing what can only be described as the most badass one-woman show of revisioning every corner of her nursery. Every. Detail. Ever. And any roadblocks? What roadblocks? This woman just moves ’em. As for Dion – he is a dedicated source of kindness and devotion to her, the kind of softness that can only come out of true admiration for someone yielding the kind of blunt strength and genuine good heartedness. His dry humor, wit, and tenderness towards the living beings he loves are palpable.
This session mostly involved a lot of time drinking coffee together, chatting, dancing in the attic, dancing in the snow, holding each other by the early winter light, and telling Birdy and Goose (their precious comedic angel duo masquerading as dogs, soon to be #1 nannies to Human Bebe) to pleasesitforthisonephoto.
Thank you so much for inviting me into your home, you three:)
