It’s Christmas Day in Detroit and we awoke to the snow. As a Californian with limited winter experience, you can imagine that I was very pleased to wake up to this scene. I mean- there are literal songs about the joys of having this snowy holiday morning off??
In any case, this was the perfect opportunity to take our dogs, Saatchi and Clementine, for a little Winter Wonderland Christmas Day stroll- and for an impromptu photo session!
While these two are no strangers to impromptu pet portrait sessions, doing a holiday themed Christmas Day session in the snow was definitely a new one for them. Taking a walk throughout the neighborhood in Detroit, we found the afternoon peaceful, bright, and perfect for throwing snowballs in Clementine’s face:)
The holidays are a weird one in general, especially for those (myself included) who are not used to spending it with family. In fact, I don’t recall the last time I wasn’t working through a Christmas? In any case- if 2020 could give any gifts at all, it was the gift of a quiet and kind snow day with my little family. Nothing grand, nothing wild. Just little icy sidewalk struts and snow topped trees to swoon at.
This may very well be the one day of 2020 that I’ll hope for once and again, and I hope yours was too. <3
